Headshot Then and Now
August 12, 2014
The photos on the left was a headshot I did two years ago, while the one the right is what I just did two days ago. I cannot look at my old photos. They are so poor. I don't know out of what kind of courage did I call myself a portrait photographer back then. I couldn't see a good expression from a fake one. I didn't know how to direct the model. I didn't know what I was looking for other than good light. Well, at least I knew lighting. Portrait photography isn't as simple as a couple of strobes and smile. There are so much behind a good photograph: the connection in the eyes, the body language, the color tone, etc etc. As my style evolves and my skill grows, maybe after two years, I won't be able to look at the photos I take now.
